Obtaining

Berry Bushes

Berries can be obtained by interacting with fully grown berry bushes that appear on:

• Starting Island • Sunset Haven • The Heights • Undeveloped Island • Ice Island • Terraformer Island

These bushes can be planted using berry bush seedson any fertile land. You cannot plant a snowy bush with a seed, so the only source of them are the ones that spawned naturally.

• The Vine Copse can also make berry bush seeds.

Snowy variants only appear on Starting Island, Eastern Island, and Ice Island

Berry bush growth stages

Berry bushes have 4 growth stages representing how close they are to being able to be harvested. At growth stage 4 you can harvest them to get 1-2 berries which sets them back to stage 1. If it is not fully grown yet, a berry bush will progress to the next growth stage every 8 seconds, meaning it takes 24 seconds for a harvested berry bush to be ready for another harvest.

Berry bushes also have a snowy variant that only takes 4 seconds per stage, taking half as long to grow as it's non-snowy counterpart.

All natural berry bushes spawn at growth stage 4.

Crates

There is a 22.2% chance to get 10 berries from a crate floating on the waters between Sunset Haven and Starting Island.

Usage

Cooking

Berries are used in cooking recipes, producing good energy replenishing food in the early part of the game.

Feeding

Berries can be fed to Chicken and Cockatrice Familiars, the following table will show some stats about feeding those familiars using berries:

Quests

Berries are used in the Build Storehouse quest requiring: Wood x8, Berries x4

This quest Rewards the player by building a storehouse, and the Miner digging out of the dirt to start her questline.

Tips

Berries can be found on almost every island and regrow very fast making them a great source of stamina early on.

If you decided to help the Builder, you will also have access to pie before leaving starting island which helps a lot with mining, and provides a decent way to replenish stamina throughout a large portion of the game.
