Content Policy
This page contains general rules and guidelines for this wiki to ensure an informative and safe experience for anyone viewing or editing it, as well as avoid misunderstandings when it comes to contributing to the wiki. In addition to the things stated in the following page, please see the Wiki.gg Terms of Service.
Rules
The Aground wiki has some rules that must be followed, and breaking these rules might result in the removal of your contributions. In cases of repeated or severe violations, your ability to edit and contribute to the wiki may be temporarily or permanently restricted. Here are some important rules to follow:
- Accuracy and Relevance: all information uploaded to the wiki should both be relevant to the current page you are writing about, and as accurate as possible. Precise and interesting statistics and information is recommended in every page, just make sure said information is accurate to avoid misleading the reader.
- Profanity: please refrain from using profanity or offensive language.
- Spam or Vandalism: Please keep a clean environment and do not take actions that disrupt peace or generally harm the experience. This includes adding irrelevant information, disruptive edits, or promotional content. Purposeful vandalism will not be tolerated and will result in the user being banned.
- Respectful Communication: Maintain a respectful tone in your edits and discussions with other contributors. Disagreements and harsh personal opinions should not be taken to wiki pages or comments.
Guidelines
While failing to comply with the following guidelines will not result in any punishment, we greatly urge you to follow them both for maintaining quality standards and ensuring your edits are as beneficial to readers as possible.
- Following existing formats and styles: Many great pages already exist in this wiki, and there is no reason not to take inspiration from them or copy their layouts. We strive to keep a consistent quality and clarity throughout the entire wiki and looking at good pages made by others can help you figure out what is expected of new and existing pages. This is especially relevant for your first few pages in this wiki.
- Source attribution: When citing information from external sources, please provide proper attribution. This helps users verify the information and learn more if they're interested.
- Neutrality: Maintain a neutral point of view in your edits. Avoid expressing personal opinions or biases as facts.
- Testing and confirming information: The best way to make sure you are writing accurate information is testing it yourself in-game! If you are using an older version of the game or the demo please state that clearly to avoid misleading people with different versions of the game. In addition to testing things in game, information can be directly compared with the game's files. For more info about that please ask in the discord server.
- Spoilers: In general, secrets and anything outside of the 2 main progression paths should be spoilertagged using Template:Spoiler. If you're unsure feel free to ask us about it.
- Categories: Every page and every file should be properly categorised. It's best to add categories when creating pages and uploading files, but they can also be added later.
- Ask us: We're here for whatever help you need, and just generally chatting. contact us in the Aground discord server.
File uploading and naming
Please follow these rules regarding uploading files:
- Files uploaded to the wiki should be clear, free of clutter, and visually appealing.
- Files names should consist of their name and type for example: berries_item.png, yeti_enemy.gif, wheatfield_screenshot.png
- Files with a clear size (such as item and enemy sprites that have a specific size in-game) should be uploaded at that size. That means all item icons should be 16x10px, and enemies/sturctures should all be their correct in-game sizes. If possible, take images directly from the game files instead of taking screenshots of things.
- When uploading a file, please choose the correct licensing option. Avoid using images that might end up causing copyright complications later on.
