Elder Dragon
Story
You find the Elder Dragon after going east of the Eastern Island on a small island made of ancient ruins. He was around at the time of "them" inhabiting the planet, he tells you of their befriending and experimentations on wyrms making them into dragons and dragon ships for their own benefit (the Exiled corroborates this account). He will help you build your first dragon ship.
The Elder Dragon is male, as confirmed by the Fish Librarian in dialogue if you accept the “Revitalize Dragon” quest and have the Librarian make the Revitalizing Potion needed for the quest.
The Elder Dragon confirms in his own dialogue that he is thousands of years old, having been abandoned by Them as worthless millennia ago and feeling angry ever since. A few other dragons, like him, were left behind on the planet, but most have died out over the long time that their numbers were not being replenished (until you help the Alchemist invent the Wyrm Pen). He and the starting island's Adult Dragon are the only survivors from the ancient times who you meet in the game.
After you awaken the Draconian Teacher, finish the game, create the Dragon Sanctuary, and return to talk to the Elder Dragon, he will head over to Unoiks 428d and take up residence on the western shore of the Hidden World island. He will live there as his postgame happy ending, surrounded by Baby Dragons and Young Dragons that flourish all around him.

Dialogue
- (When asking "How did they betray you?")
Elder Dragon: "A long time ago, back when there were only Wyrms, they claimed they wanted to help us. They unlocked our potential, evolving us into dragons.
But eventually they changed. They stopped helping us grow and started using us to achieve their own goals, forcing us into servitude.
And then they abandoned us when we outlived our usefulness, taking their magic secrets with them. No longer can we evolve, and the last of the dragons are dying out.
I've spent the past milennia cursing their names and trying to learn magic to help the Wyrms myself.
If all I can do at this age is help you exterminate them, I will do so willingly!"
You: “I never said anything about exterminating them, only surviving!”
Elder Dragon: "Oh. Well, keep it in mind if the opportunity arises! "

Elder Dragon: "While they created Dragon Ships millenia ago and are sure to have something more powerful now, this could be the first step toward defeating them!"
(Randomly after first talking to him)
Normally, I eat fish without listening to their screams. But sometimes I use my translation magic for fun, and I heard something that might be useful.
“”Apparently, there’s a colony of fish studying magic off the east coast of the Cultivator’s island. I wouldn’t take fish too seriously, but perhaps they could help.”
When giving him a Revitalizing Potion at the end of the “Revitalize Dragon” quest:
“What is this potion? I feel like I can do anything! I could even finally become a Dragon Ship myself!”
(Elder Dragon flies away to fight the Storm, then returns)
”That bout of invincibility didn’t last long. Still old and frail. But, at least I burned that ice monster to a crisp! That was the most fun I’ve had in ages - literally!”
