Obtaining

Farming

The main way to obtain wheat is through farming. Wheat seeds WheatSeed.PNG can be planted in hydroponics or on any fertile land and will be harvested by farming bots or by the FarmerFarmer.gif, yielding 2-8 wheat per harvest and taking 80 seconds to regrow.

In addition to Being able to buy them in various shops and create them in the vine copse, the farmer will trade you 1 wheat seed WheatSeed.PNG for 8 wheat Wheat.png, which can help get a bit more wheat even before markets are set up.

Tips

Wheat Seeds

If you talk to the farmer, eventually a window will pop up allowing you to craft seeds out of foods.

Name Ingredients
Wheat Seeds 8 wheat
Apple Seeds 4 wood, 4 apples

These seeds are also craftable in the Vine Copse, Talon Copse, and Terraformer but I will specifically be talking about both of these recipes from the farmer because this strategy is only relevant very early on when all the of the other structures are not yet available.

Both wheat seeds and apple seeds sell for 70 gold each (without bargaining levels), which is larger than the sum of the cost of all ingredients required to make them. The following tables will show more info about this:

Wheat Seeds

Bargaining 0 Wheat(5g)Wheat.png x8 40g 70g 30g

I chose to talk about this here rather than in the Apples page because it is more profitable with wheat seeds than it is with apple seeds, but combining the two can be a pretty quick an easy way to get a bit of bonus money (literally for free) very early on.

I will again state that this is probably not a viable strategy for large amounts of gold, because even though lots of shops sell the required ingredients to make those seeds in large amounts at a time, 50g net profit per seed (at most) will still be very slow.
